Description
The Scottsdale Mint 1oz Omnia Silver Coin showcases a cob-era cross design. The reverse of the coin bears the inscription ‘In omnia paratus,’ a Latin phrase meaning ‘Prepared for all things,’ along with details of the coin’s weight and purity. The obverse features the iconic Scottsdale lion.
Spanish cob coins, known for their rough, hand-struck, and hand-trimmed appearance, were widely circulated during the 16th to 18th centuries. These original gold and silver coins were famously called “pieces of eight” or “doubloons” by pirates. The Omnia 1oz silver bullion coin pays homage to this classic design, though it is not hand-struck like its historical counterparts.
