Description
The 1oz Silver Krugerrand from the South African Mint.
Originating on 3 July 1967, the Krugerrand was introduced to promote South African gold. This iconic coin, rooted in history, emerged with the innovative idea of a legal tender gold coin tied to the daily gold price. The silver Krugerrand faithfully mirrors the design features of its gold counterpart.
The obverse side features the effigy of Paul Kruger, the inaugural President of the Zuid Afrikaansche Republiek (ZAR). The reverse, originally crafted by the renowned sculptor Coert Steynberg, showcases one of South Africa’s national animals, the Springbok.
